The most important step for my Ubuntu to work.
System wide settings
Open Network proxy settings:
System > Preferences > Network Proxy.
Than make it look like the image. This is the proxy address for the university of Sydney.
Now to fix the settings for Firefox
Open Firefox:
Applications > Internet > Firefox
Open Firefox Settings:
Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Settings
Now change this to:
Use system wide settings
